You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and software throughout our development process. Your technical duties involve the design and development of new software products throughout the product lifecycle.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works independently
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions 
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
  • Ensures software standards are met
  • Elicit, derive, and document software and/or system requirements to meet internal or external customer specifications
  • Define software/and or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per corporate or customer standards
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and/or hardware components
  • Ability to rapidly work with limited supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent 
  • Typically 6+ years experience designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions 
  • Minimal fundamental knowledge of Scripting languages, Embedded software development (C/C++), and Embedded Linux
  • Proficient in two Languages: C, C++, Java, Python
  • Proficient in C++ 
  • Solid communication and presentation skills required to all levels of the organization 
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and /or hardware components.
  • Ensures software standards are met  
  • Experience implementing standards based SIGINT system software
  • SIGINT background
  • Prior experience developing signal processing algorithm
  • Software Defined Radios (GNU Radio, REDHAWK, etc.)
  • Signal processing / demodulation of signals
  • Test Automation
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. Start will be contingent upon award of interim clearance

Preferred:

  • Object oriented design, Software requirements definition skills, ability to work in fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Atlassian tool suite
  • Prior SIGINT (COMINT/ELINT) experience
  • Minimal fundamental knowledge UDP/TCP/IP and other communication protocols
  • Experience developing software for GPUs is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work rapidly with minimum supervision on projects involving both small and large teams 
  • Experience in radio interferometry
  • Familiarity with Network Topologies and Security

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
