Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Folsom,
California, 95630! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Family Birthing Center (Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby)
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Must-Have: Must have at least 1 year of Labor and Delivery
experience. Preference for 3 years of experience in this setting.
Candidates must be comfortable with NRP at delivery. Description:
Candidates should be able to catch the baby. The unit has 2
delivery beds, 7 Labor and Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP)
beds, and provides overflow care for 4-8 postpartum beds. There is
1 operating room suite for C-Sections and a NICU with 2 beds for
newborn stabilization. The unit sees 70-80 births each month and
conducts non-stress tests with an average of 60-70 per month. The
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 in labor, 1:1 at delivery, and 1:4
for Mother/Baby couplets. Candidates will be required to titrate
drips, including pitocin and occasionally insulin. A charge nurse
or nurse shift manager is present on every shift. If staffing needs
require it, the charge nurse may take an assignment. There are no
certified nursing assistants or surgical techs scheduled on this
unit. An obstetrician is in-house 24/7. There is a perinatal
specialist available to improve neonatal complications. Anesthesia
is not in-house 24/7 but is on-call with a 20-minute response time.
If there are patients with an epidural, anesthesia will remain
in-house for the duration of care. Respiratory therapy attends
every delivery and assists in providing respiratory support and
managing equipment as needed. The unit has ventilators, CPAP, and
bubble CPAP machines. There are no telemetry or monitor techs on
this unit. Fetal monitors can record maternal heart rhythms.
Required certifications include ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring,
BLS, and NRP. Weekend requirements include 2 weekend shifts per
4-week schedule, with possible rotations on holidays among core
staff. Floating may be required to other facilities within the same
region. The scheduling is done 4 weeks in advance. The hospital may
cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. Charting is done
using the Cerner system. This position does not require a BSN. The
