Job Description Job Description Position Overview: Registered Respiratory Therapist - PFT (Dayshift) As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) laboratory, you will deliver direct respiratory care to patients, collaborate with physicians regarding the effectiveness of therapies, and act as a knowledgeable resource in the field of respiratory care. This role necessitates graduation from an accredited respiratory program, appropriate licensure, and certification, with a preference for candidates who have experience in critical care and specific respiratory testing credentials. This position operates during the day shift and focuses on patient care, the use of respiratory equipment, and teamwork within a healthcare environment. Discover Your Purpose with Us! Job Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in all areas of respiratory therapy as per physician directives. Consult with physicians regarding the effectiveness of respiratory treatments. Serve as an advanced resource for both physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care matters. Carry out additional assigned responsibilities as needed. Position Details Schedule: Dayshift, Monday through Friday in the PFT Lab (Pulmonary Function Testing) Qualifications Education: Graduate of a CoArc accredited Respiratory Care program. Licensure: Must meet state licensure requirements and possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Experience: No prior experience required. Certifications: Must hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For those working in the Emergency Room, PALS certification is required. Physical Demands: Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 10 lbs, and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Equipment used includes all necessary respiratory care devices. Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Preferred Experience: Experience in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) and critical care is advantageous. Preferred Certifications: CPFT or RPFT credentials are preferred. Why Join Us?
