Pay Information $2,884 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery required; strong labor experience and comfort with postpartum experience License: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California Certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, ACLS, STABLE, BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Basic computer skills - Effective communication skills - Compassionate patient care approach Description: The staff RN will be responsible for the care of women from childbearing through geriatric years and infants up to 28 days of life. The RN will supervise and coordinate care with other disciplines. The role requires performing nursing duties according to established policies and procedures. The nurse will accurately charge for patients and unit supplies. Responsibilities include administering and controlling narcotics and medications. The RN will administer IV fluids according to established policies. The RN will demonstrate the ability to handle emergency situations promptly and professionally. The nurse will develop individual plans of care specific to each patient's age and developmental status. Patient and family education will be provided and documented as appropriate. Effective leadership by directing and delegating tasks will be part of this role. The nurse will ensure the unit and patient care area maintain cleanliness and safety. The RN will perform appropriate and complete assessments for each assigned patient utilizing specific assessment techniques. Documentation of patient assessments, plans, interventions, and responses will be required. The RN will maintain and meet expectations for all competencies, licenses, certifications, and education requirements. This position requires the frequent transferring of patients, including lifting and pushing as necessary.
